The Transplantation Advisory Council (TAC) of the American Board of Surgery (ABS) is seeking member nominees to serve a six-year term beginning January 1, 2023. The TAC consists of members who focus their practice on transplantation, and serves as a voice for transplant surgeons within the ABS. The TAC serves as a resource of knowledge, skill, wisdom, and expertise, and is where issues pertinent to the practice of transplantation are discussed.
In addition to commitment, availability, loyalty, and ability to keep confidence, individuals with one or more of the following characteristics are sought:
Emphasis will be placed on elements of diversity across all dimensions, including race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age or other elements that bring a different voice to the table.
The time commitment including exams is approximately 10-14 days/year.
Nominees will be accepted from societies, peers, or self-nomination. All nominations will require a letter of support (i.e., completion of the Nominate/Support Form) from either an organization or from an ABMS-certified physician.
