Window Opened for Rescheduled 2020 Written Exams

In response to candidate-reported issues with scheduling appointments for the rescheduled 2020 Vascular Surgery Qualifying Exam (QE), Pediatric Surgery QE, Complex General Surgical Oncology QE and Surgical Critical Care Certifying Exam (CE), ABS has worked with Pearson VUE to allow a longer window for affected candidates to have the opportunity to sit for their exam. The ongoing pandemic has forced Pearson VUE to limit capacity, and in some cases, to make changes to existing registrations. In addition, many professions cancelled and rescheduled their 2020 exams, increasing the demand for available testing slots in 2021.
Candidates registering for the rescheduled 2020 Vascular Surgery QE, Pediatric Surgery QE, Complex General Surgical Oncology QE and Surgical Critical Care CE will be able to choose from a range of dates between April 1 - April 30, 2021. For candidates who are unable to register for a seat at an acceptable location during this month-long window of time, the next exam opportunity will be September 2021.
Candidates who are already scheduled for an exam at a Pearson VUE testing center on the original rescheduled date of April 12, 2021, have the option to switch their exam seat if desired. Please contact Pearson VUE for assistance with this.
