General Surgery QE Initial Application Deadline Extended through May 14

We are aware that the ABS surgeon portal has been unavailable intermittently throughout the past several days.
We understand the concern and frustration felt by candidates attempting to submit application materials for the 2021 General Surgery QE. In recognition of this, we will waive the late application period, and extend the initial application deadline through May 14, 2021. With this extension, there will be no late application date and no late fees assessed; May 14 is now the only deadline for which to submit application materials for the 2021 General Surgery QE. No applications will be accepted after this date.
In order to expedite the ability for candidates to schedule their seat at a Pearson Vue testing center, for the first time this year we are opening registration for the QE in early May while applications are still under review. Early registration offers the best chance of reserving a seat at the location of your choice. Therefore, we encourage candidates to submit their application materials as soon as they are able.
